The Purpose

Why an AI Workshop?

Whether we like it or not, AI is changing the world - especially the way we do work. At Harvest AI Solutions, we believe that high school students will be the most impacted by this change, and they deserve a chance to prepare for what is ahead.

It is predicted that by 2030 in Australia, there will be over 200,000 new jobs created that relate to artificial intelligence. Our workshops are designed to get students excited about what AI can do, while also pointing out some of its dangers.

When you book an 80 minute workshop, you are giving your students an opportunity to learn something new and perhaps change the trajectory of their future.

Our workshops align with the

Australian Digital Technologies Curriculum

What's Included?

1. Introduction

What exactly is Artificial Intelligence?

Our workshop kicks off with a time of questions for the students, engaging them in a discussion about what they think AI is.

Your instructor then unpacks the definition of AI and goes through different examples of machine learning models. They will also share some of the latest news about what is happening in the world of AI.

2. Ethical Dilemmas for AI

We go beyond just teaching technical aspects by addressing the ethical challenges posed by AI technology.

Students will explore a wide range of ethical dilemmas, assess the responsibilities of AI developers, and consider strategies to address these issues. Our workshops prepare students to critically examine AI technologies and the importance of ethics in technology development.

3. Impact on Future Careers

We discuss the potential impact of AI on future job markets and the opportunities it presents. We highlight the growing demand for professionals with AI expertise and help students understand the significance of AI knowledge in multiple industries, paving the way for future success in an AI-driven world.

Your instructor may provide tips on additional resources that students can utilise to grow their AI knowledge.

4. Group Activity

We encourage students to collaborate in groups, applying their understanding of AI and ethics to create a solution to a real-world problem.

Each group has a minute to share their AI creation and the problem it solves. Although they will not have time to create the solution, this activity will leave them excited about working with AI in the future.

"Harvest AI Solutions provided an informative and engaging workshop to the Year 9 Gifted and Talented students at Harrisdale Senior High School. The workshop explored the latest developments in AI innovations and career options, as well as provoking thought around ethics, as we are still in the 'wild west' of AI usage within industry.

Students were highly engaged in discussions around the definition of plagiarism within the context of using AI as a tool for creativity and learning. This workshop has given students an awareness of how AI could assist their education while challenging their perceptions of how they use it as a tool for thinking."
